Hi, I'm Kasey!

an interview with the Outer Banks Wedding Association, hosted in my living room! learn more about me, how I create emotional images, biggest tips to couples, and my love for plants.

-WILL CARRY ALL HER GROCERIES IN  BY HAND IF SHE FORGETS HER REUSABLE BAGS

Growing up on the Outer Banks, I developed a strong love for the ocean and what lay on the other side of it early on. After graduating from college, I worked as a wild horse tour guide in the summers where I saved all of my money for travel. After many winters of backpacking Asia, photography became a big part of my life, providing a way to share and express all that I was experiencing overseas.

I grew my specialty in portraits and lifestyle and began getting requests from friends wishing for their engagements and weddings to be captured in a similar style to what they were seeing from my travels. While I wasn't expecting to fall in love with capturing weddings, that is exactly what happened.

When I am shooting weddings, I'm not into stiff, overly posed images. That's just not my thing! However, I am into emotional, lifestyle images that are full of love and life. I want to create art from your wedding day and to create images that will hang on your walls for the next 40 years, eliciting a smile anytime they capture your attention.

What's the secret to getting these images on your wedding day? It's about having fun, living in the moment, and being in love. That's it!

As seen on the front cover of the 2022 Outer Banks Weddings magazine. An incredible shot from one of Kasey Powell's 2021 weddings, featuring couple Kaela & Nate, landed the front cover of this year's magazine!
