A Local Lighthouse Wedding

LAUREN & CHRIS

Lauren and Chris are Outer Banks locals, true ocean people, and wanted to have a wedding the felt true to their lives together here on the island.  I didn't know Lauren growing up but, we worked together a year prior to her wedding to document a special time in her life with her daughter, which is how we knew we really clicked artistically. I don't always get to spend quality time with my couples before a wedding, most of them are destination so it's not always logistically possible! However, it's always an incredible feeling to build on the trust and openness that is already established when you work with someone over time. Trust and connection is a huge part of any relationship, and it really rings true when it comes to your artistic relationships.

With a completely local wedding team, and shooting in locations that most visitors don't include on their wedding day itinerary, like Bodie (pronounced 'body') Island Lighthouse, wooded island roads, and Coquina Beach, this whole day was not only gorgeous to shoot, but all flowed in a truly laid back, Outer Banks fashion. Lauren and Chris wanted a few portraits but, other than that, just wanted their photography to capture what was most important to them: their family and friends, celebrating and having fun, in one of their most favorite places in the world, home.
